Healthy Hobbies: Find Yours With This Tool, For Greater Productivity Through Work “Recovery”
Healthy hobbies are in, when it comes to increasing productivity at work.
How we spend our time recharging and getting completely away from our work and chores is increasingly known to play a huge part in our ability to concentrate, and work optimally, when back at it.
A 2014 study found that those with creative, healthy hobbies outside of work had a greater feeling of control and mastery in life (statistically associated with high performance on the job), and they were more likely to help colleagues and contribute creatively at work.
Researchers call the results of creative activities that aid in job performance “recovery.”
How, and how well do you “recover?” Do you have any healthy hobbies?
It has been said (source unknown) that you should “Find three hobbies. One to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative.” You should find no shortage of ideas for all of the above in the Efficiency Podcast Healthy Hobbies infographic below.
